Dude that question looked really good until the end, then it totally sucked!!!!

I guess in the 2007/08 season, United will have Wayne Rooney as there main striker as much as I disagree with this. He is no out-and-out striker by any means, and certainly not a target-man.

For me, Rooney is at his best as the seond striker, the play-maker, the central free-role attacking midfielder or whatever is it you want to call his position. Yes he is a striker, but no-more than a midfield striker. He is someone you can-not guarantee will get you 20+ goals a season. Can you imagine Rooney havin' his back to goal for every game he gets 90 minutes of Football? Its just not his position. He likes to be more involved in the play rather than being the one who gets the glory. Thats why there will never be another strike force in World Football like him and Ruud Van Nistelrooy of nearly two seasons ago. Rooney was the play-maker, Ruud was the goal-scorer. Such a brilliant duo and such a shame he had to leave us for Madrid : (

Anyway, we need another Ruud. Samuel Eto'o would be the most ideal man suited in this role. A proven World-class finisher. Someone once again to link up with Rooney and not expect Rooney to do it all by himself which is how it may be looking if Carlos Tevez does'nt get signed in time. Louis Saha is good but United need more depth than just Alan Smith and Ole Gunner Solskaer. It appears that Micheal Owen is being talked about in a possible deal with Alan Smith switching to Newcastle. Would be fantastic as far as i'm concerned coz Rooney and Owen are tremendous together for England so why not?

If Tevez is signed in time, it will be Rooney and Tevez playing together as two attacking midfielders, one dropping back and the other getting the goals and vice-versa, intercepting with one another. This may pay off as it will probably confuse the hell out of defenders. But lets not forget that they are two very similar style players and my only worry is that they may cancel each other out. Gerrard/ Lampard midfield for England thing. sort of makes me think of that somehow. But it could work and prove to be another master-plan of Fergies paid off and every United fan will be left fellin' happy!!!

If Tevez don't come, and Eto'o is'nt available, then the whole Micheal Owen thing should be the best bet I think. Forget Eiuder Gudjohnsen for Gods sake!!!!
