I think hwe was a great player. He may not have been the best open field player, but he could receive and handle a ball while running, even high passes and some of his free kicks were legendary. I do agree he was marketed huge. He's a pretty boy and that helped. As one of my buddies said though, like Mike Tyson, he should have never opened his mouth in public and let everyone hear what a wussie voice he has.
