Ask an agent has to do a history search on that address or parcel. Going back a year will give you a good picture. A common real estate practice is to 'refresh listings' every 2-3 months and sometimes a price reduction will show up. There could be several older listings. Maybe the past agent was fired and a new listing may show a price reduction or a break in 'market time'. knowledge of market history can give the buyer insight into 'how motivated the seller is'. An edge. Some agents don't like to show clients MLS history of the property because it may reveal a specific problem to that property or the agent may feel the buyer is looking to steal a property. Either way it slows down the whole process for the agent and basically they want a fast sale so they can get paid ASAP. This is a very general statement but there is much more truth then fiction here.
