I think that having back up plans is a must. If South Africa wants to prove them wrong then good for them. But the World Cup is too big of an event to delay.
If another country were to host it, then USA would be the answer. They have the Stadiums, Security and commitment. Mexico is an option but have already hosted 2. Australia would not host because the Americas have been skipped and have not hosted since 94'.
Its like the current Olympic bids. I bet my car and house that Chicago or Rio will host. The reason? The americas have not hosted in a while and China and England will host the next 2. |
