| Ukraine and Poland: best wishes for Euro2012. Italy deserved it? UEFA has officially given Euro 2012 organization to Ukraine and Poland. Italy was fav since today. I'm happy for Poland and Ukraine; they're new countries in Europen Community, this is a good chance to show themselves to world' eyes. Anyway, I'm highly disappointed with Italian Football Federation (FIGC). Our member in UEFA council is Franco Carraro, the former FIGC President when the football fixing scandal was discovered. Antonio Matarrese, now Football Clubs President, was involved in many rumours when Italy organized 1990 WC (stadia buildings and so on). Giancarlo Abete, now FIGC President, was CEO when football scandal was going on.
My opinion is - Italy was better in the nodal points investigated from UEFA: transports, facilities, stadia, security and so on. But having such a managers, it's right to have some doubts.
What do you think?
@germanyrocks - as supporter, of course to win a WC is better than hosting it ;-)
Besides this, hosting a major football event as an Euro final tournament is definitevely a major business affair, involving tourism and self-promotion. I think to waste such a chance with a sick management is too dumb to believe. Our Sports and Youth Minister was crying after the verdict, and this is annoying me. All they need was to think twice before to place those managers at top level in football. Tears are usuless. They should cry on their failure, all supporters here were angry with this management. |
